The Ipswich Proposal was originally set up as a blog in response to the Upper Orwell Crossing. I was fascinated how a bridge could divide opinion of the whole town, when many people are not usually very vocal when it comes to development. The blog post received a lot of attention and it it hit me that this was one of the largest developments Ipswich has seen in years, but was it really? It turns out it wasn’t, as seen in the archive. This website has now taken the form of a development news source/blog that documents proposals while backlogging the large scale developments that ultimately collapsed.

All content is written and edited by me and all information is sourced from planning applications, news sites, as well as walking around the town.
